Washington REIT has signed a contract to acquire 600 New Hampshire Avenue, NW, a 309,000 square foot Class A office building on the Potomac riverfront in Washington, DC, for approximately $135 million ($437 per square foot). Built in 1972 and renovated extensively in 1997, the 12-story Watergate 600 is one of the six buildings that comprise the internationally recognized Watergate complex. Atlantic Media is the lead tenant under a long-term lease.
Following its green glow on St. Patrick’s Day, Washington REIT’s Silverline Center in Tysons, VA will “light it up blue” April 1-3 in support of Autism Speaks’ annual global Light It Up Blue campaign.
Washington REIT’s Silverline Center, now 94 percent leased, will light up the Tysons skyline with a dynamic green LED light display on St. Patrick’s Day 2016. The building attracts over a million views per week from I-495, two Metro stations, and the surrounding area.
A year after acquiring the 185,000 SF office building at 1775 Eye Street, NW in Washington, DC’s central business district, Washington REIT (NYSE:WRE) has completed an extensive $4.2 million renovation and executed leases for 79,000 SF of space, bringing the building to 98 percent leased status.
