Bethesda, MD-based Washington Property Company (WPC) has leased commercial kitchen space in the former home of Progress Place in downtown Silver Spring, MD to a nonprofit culinary training program offered by STEP (Service workers Training & Education Partnership). STEP is a joint benefit fund operated by Local 23 of the international labor union UNITE HERE in partnership with employers such as Aramark, Sodexo, and Compass Group.
Led by Vanguard Realty’s 14,434 square foot lease renewal at 1390 Piccard Drive in Rockville, MD, Washington Property Company of Bethesda, MD leased just under 40,000 SF of space in five of its suburban Washington, DC office buildings during the first quarter of 2016.
Conflulytics has leased 22,255 square feet of office space in Washington Property Company’s (WPC) 242,000 SF multi-tenant office building at 8757 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, MD. This was the largest new tenant lease in Montgomery County during the last quarter of 2015. During the last two quarters of 2015, WPC leased a total of nearly 56,000 SF of office space in four of its suburban Washington, DC office buildings.
Main Street Movies 5 will open a five-screen, state-of-the-art movie theater with reserved, reclining seats and refreshments from local vendors at the Newark (DE) Shopping Center in August of 2016. The new theater will replace the shuttered Newark Cinema Center, which operated from the early 1960’s through October of 2015. Main Street Movies 5 has signed an 18,000 square foot lease with Atlantic Realty Companies of Tysons, VA, which acquired the Newark Shopping Center four years ago in partnership with New York City-based Angelo, Gordon & Co.
