Lancaster Bible College (LBC) has leased 18,575 square feet of space at Washington Property Company’s (WPC) Patriot Business Park East, located at 7852 Walker Road in Greenbelt, MD. Marc Witowski of WPC and Ken Fellows of Edge Commercial represented the owner while Peter Rosan of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant.
Starting in March, LBC will offer local adult learners a wide variety of academic offerings including non-degree courses, undergraduate majors, graduate education, and a PhD in Leadership. Courses will be available in traditional, online, and blended formats to fit the life of the adult learner.
Formerly occupied by the University of Phoenix, the ground-floor space at Patriot Business Park East has 11 fully equipped classrooms, student study areas, offices, a lounge, and a library area. “This is as fine an educational facility as anyone can find, and makes a strong statement to our students that we want to provide a quality learning environment,” said LBC President Peter W. Teague. “We are delighted with the state of the art technology alongside state of the art teaching LBC will bring to this building!”
LBC is a fully accredited academic institution with its main campus in Lancaster, PA. LBC recently acquired the academic programs of Washington Bible College and Capital Bible Seminary; the new facility in Greenbelt will be called Lancaster Bible College/Capital Bible Seminary Capital Campus.
Developed by WPC from the ground up in 2004, Patriot Business Park comprises twin four-story, 84,000 SF Class A buildings with immediate access to the Capital Beltway, Baltimore-Washington Parkway, and I-95 as well as Metrorail, MARC commuter trains, and Amtrak.
The LBC transaction is WPC’s first major lease in 2013 within its 1.8 million SF office portfolio spanning the Washington, DC metropolitan area. In the last two quarters of 2012, WPC leased over 130,000 SF including the 88,230 SF Social & Scientific Systems lease renewal at Silver Spring Plaza.
