NOMA
The NoMa (North of Massachusetts Avenue) Business Improvement District (BID) was created in 2007 as a public-private partnership to advance this former industrial warehouse district just north of the U.S. Capitol. While it had a Metrorail station and a new Federal agency headquarters, NoMa was considered “nowhere” by most people. The nascent BID hired LHB to create and implement a public relations program. During the BID’s first two years of operation, LHB obtained over 200 of media placements including a New York Times feature and extensive coverage by local TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, social media, and blogs. These outstanding results helped transform NoMa into one of city’s hottest neighborhoods and one of the continent’s top destinations for institutional investment.
